Custom Banjo Pricing

Every banjo I build begins with a conversation — the kind we’d have if you walked into my workshop and pulled up a chair. We talk about tone and feel, the way you play, what draws you to the banjo, and the music that’s shaped you so far. Somewhere in that conversation, I start to get a sense of the instrument that will feel most “you.”

Some folks come in knowing exactly what they want. Others are discovering it as we go. Either way works. I’ll guide you through woods, rim sizes, tone rings, heads — all the choices — in a way that’s clear and never overwhelming. My goal is to build an instrument that calls you to pick it up every time you walk past — one that feels familiar from the very first note and inspires you for a lifetime to come.

Base price for each model is listed below. At this price, you can already choose from plenty of options to make your banjo personal to you. If you’d like to go a step further, there are premium upgrades like hardware, tuners, and custom inlays — as simple or as special as you want to get. Left-handed versions of every model are also available.

Base Model Pricing

  • $3,300 — Broadway (11″)
  • $3,400 — Cumberland (12″)
  • $4,200 — Governor (13″)

A Christmas surprise for Angie

Carving the neck, one of my favorite steps

Wait times vary a bit from build to build, depending on the model and what’s already on my bench. The current average is about 12 months. Once we talk through what you’re looking for, I can give you a solid estimate. When your banjo’s underway, I’ll send photos as it comes to life — most folks tell me that’s their favorite part of the whole process.

Once we’ve talked through ideas, I’ll send you an email with specifications, pricing, and a link to make a deposit ($800) and reserve your spot on my build schedule. The balance is not due until the banjo is done.
