Each nut is individually shaped and slotted by hand to fit its banjo. We offer two choices of materials for the nut.
Unbleached bone is the classic, traditional choice for banjo nuts and has a light creamy color. We also offer black buffalo horn which can lend a distinctive and refined look to your banjo. The polished black nut tends to unify the ebony fingerboard and ebony peghead overlay into a single visual element, and is particularly striking on full-fretless models.
Regarding sound, a difference is not so readily audible, but the bone does seem to produce a slightly brighter tone than the black buffalo horn. Both options are based upon a 1-5/16″ nut width.
